A mother of three was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning in Bullet Tree, and the child's father is now on the run, Old Harbour News can report.

Dead is Patricia Dennis, a mother-of-three, believed to be in her 40s. The accused has been identified as Damian Oshane Langley, a 35-year-old labourer of Hawk Lane, Bullet Tree.

Information reaching Old Harbour News is that Dennis and Langley had separated following the birth of their child, who will turn two next month. Residents say Langley would physically abuse Dennis at every opportunity, even after his mother granted the now-deceased permission to build a house on the family land.

Things turned deadly on Saturday morning at about 1:00 am when Dennis, who was returning from a wake, was attacked by Langley upon entering her house, residents told Old Harbour News.

Dennis reportedly made a run for her life but was chased by Langley and stabbed repeatedly multiple times. Langley also attacked Dennis' son, but residents managed to stop him by hurling stones, our news centre was told.

Dennis was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Langley fled the scene and has been in hiding since.

Residents informed Old Harbour News that about 7:00 am, Langley's board house was completely destroyed by fire.

It is understood that during a search of the area by a team of officers, Langley was spotted but managed to evade the police into the thick jungle of the hilly terrain.

This is the second domestic dispute in days in the Old Harbour police zone to claim a life.

On Tuesday morning, 64-year-old taxi driver Fitzroy Williams died after he was stabbed by the mother of his child. The accused woman is in police custody after reporting to the Old Harbour Police Station with a lawyer.

Investigations are ongoing.
