Rogue cop among three killed in movie-like shootout
Late last night the geographic space of Chedwin Park, Brunswick Avenue and Job Lane on the outskirts of the Old Capital of Spanish Town was the epicenter where five firearms were seized when the smoke cleared.
According to preliminary report from the police “a police officer who is on suspension was shot and killed by an off duty police officer.
“The deceased is one of three police officers, attached to the Mobile Reserve who are on suspension.
The report stated that suspended police trio had shot and killed Sheldon Daley, otherwise called ‘Junior Biggs’ at a social event in Chedwin Park, St. Catherine.
“The off duty officer observed the shooting and pursued the Nissan Sunny AD wagon in which the assailants were travelling,” the report continued.
“A shootout ensued, during which one of the escaping officers was shot and killed. The Nissan motorcar subsequently crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Brunswick Avenue and Job Lane.
“An unidentified male who was an occupant in the other crashed vehicle was also shot and killed.
“One of the escaping officers was held whilst the other eluded the police.”
Three Glock pistols, a .45 pistol and a Browning 9mm pistol were seized from the vehicle the rogue cops were travelling in.
Investigation continues.
