Three charged with murder of Romaine ‘Pancho’ Robinson | Investigator says killing gang-related
Robinson, 25, was gunned down on the afternoon of April 22, 2019 while at a bar at Lincoln Plaza, Old Harbour.
However, the alleged killers were subsequently held later on the same day in the Longsville Park community following a high-speed chase and shootout with police officers from the nearby Old Harbour Police Station.
The men charged are Rudolph Shaw otherwise called ‘Boxer’, Rojay Reid who goes by the alias ‘Biggy’ and Neville Bucknor also known as ‘Mark’.
Shaw was shot in the leg during the shootout and was taken to hospital where he received treatment.
In addition to the murder charge, they are also charged with illegal possession of firearm and conspiracy to murder.
No firearm was recovered.
Speaking to Old Harbour News last week, head of the Old Harbour CIB Detective Insp. Glen McGill says investigation so far suggest the death of Robinson was due to “an internal feud” between the deceased and his killers.
He said the investigative team is “looking into other criminal activities connected” to Robinson, who had served jail time on gun-related charges in recent times.
Meantime, investigators have declared Dwight Ellis of a Sandy Bay, Free Town address, a person of interest in relation to the ongoing investigation into Robinson’s murder.
They are urging Ellis to visit the Old Harbour Police Station as soon as possible.
All three men in custody are scheduled to appear in court at a date soon to be announced.
