Three shot, one fatally in Herring Lane shooting
The incident occurred at about 10:15 pm last night which left dead 30-year-old Michael Walters otherwise called ‘Bobby’ of a Wellside Lane, Church Pen address.
Those injured are said to be teenagers – a male and a female – who were caught by stray bullets to their legs. Their condition is considered not serious.
Reports are that Walters, who is a construction worker, was standing at a bar when he was approached by a man who pulled a gun and fired at him several times. He received gunshot wounds to his upper body and died on the spot.
It is the second multiple shooting incident to have occurred in the parish. Exactly a week ago nine people were shot, four fatally in Dover district in the northwestern region of St Catherine which is only six miles in distance from Herring Lane in the southwest.
Investigators told Old Harbour News that a motive is yet to be established for the killing.
