Unidentified man found on Nightingale Grove playfield succumbs to gunshot wounds
In a follow-up the police confirmed that the man, believed to be in his early 20s, died while undergoing treatment.
The deceased remains unidentified the police informed Old Harbour News, as he’s not from the community.
The Old Harbour police were called to the area about 1:00 pm yesterday after residents stumbled upon a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Around that time, residents reported hearing loud explosions sounding like gunshots.
Residents told detectives they were seeing the man for the first time.
It leaves many unanswered questions. Why was he in the area? Who was he meeting with? And of course why did the person(s) he met with shot him?
None of these questions will perhaps be ever answered in a fulsome manner, as the severely wounded man was moving in and out of consciousness when the police got to the scene.
Gunshot wounds were observed on his legs, hand, shoulder and chest, the police said.
Investigation continues.
