The grand opening of the new Flow store in Marlie Mount has sparked some curiosity, given its location east of Old Harbour, away from the bustling heart of the town.

KITS Technical Services Limited, the franchisee, chose this spot to alleviate the ongoing traffic and parking issues in Jamaica’s fastest-growing town.

Manager Sachin Fearon explained the vision behind the move, citing the potential for gentrification and modernization of the area. He believes that by establishing Flow in Marlie Mount, it may encourage other businesses to invest in the community, providing a more convenient alternative to the busy Old Harbour square.

“We thought about gentrification where we can modernize the area and once other companies see that Flow is developing the area they may also want to help with the development [and open business in Marlie Mount].

“It’s easier and better and to avoid the hustle and bustle to go into Old Harbour square, they can just come out here and have that done,” Fearon tells Old Harbour News during its grand opening last Friday.

The store offers a diverse range of products and services, from high-end phones to accessories, alongside services like bill payments and sim-card replacements. KITS also provides graphic design, IT services, solar installations, and camera installations, with future plans to expand into software development.

Fearon highlighted KITS' commitment to community engagement, noting their past initiatives like upgrading computers at Old Harbour High School and their plans to support student learning through an internet café.

He expressed a willingness to collaborate with the community to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the Marlie Mount commercial strip.
