Jamaican doctor reveals family secret use to fight coronavirus
However, according to one Jamaican doctor the benefits derived from this special and highly nutritious plant, that is easily accessible on the island, is an old family secret being used for many years to fight influenza.
Highly respected dermatologist Dr Arlene Rose revealed that organic cold-pressed coconut oil does wonders for her family during the flu seasons.
“Studies from long ago have shown coconut oil has a number of benefits against many different types of viruses. It has an effect whereby it will just destroy the envelope, the fatty envelope around many viruses; and in fact the coronavirus does have a fatty envelop around it.
“It prevents viruses from binding or attaching itself to the hosts, which will be us if we weren’t taking it. So it actually helps viruses not being able to attach to whoever is taking the coconut oil; and this has been scientifically proven,” stated Dr Rose, head of the renowned Derma Kare Skin and Body Centre in a video blog shared among her fan base.
“Also it inhibits or interferes with the ability of the virus to replicate itself,” she added.
Regarded as being among the most nutritious plants on Earth, coconut – be it the water, jelly or oil – is said to be great for boosting the immune system.
Dr Rose was quick to point out to her followers that her opinion should not be misconstrued for medical advice, except that given the limited knowledge known so far about COVID-19, her intentions is to provide information that hopefully may help.
“I can’t give this as medical advice, but I’m giving this as one Jamaican to another,” she said, while encouraging persons not to become stressful by the COVID-19 pandemic as this can cause the body’s immunity to become weak.
