An Old Harbour Bay man, shot four times by unknown assailants, is said to be in stable condition in hospital.
His name is being withheld for safety and security reasons.
According to the Old Harbour Bay police the man was clearly the target, as he was approached by armed men who open gunfire hitting him several times.
The incident occurred about 9:15 pm yesterday in the Kelly Pen area of Old Harbour Bay. Four spent casings were retrieved crime scene detectives for further forensic analysis.
The victim, said to be in his early 30s, was taken to the Old Harbour Bay Police Station by residents before he was transported by the police to a nearby hospital, where his condition was stabilized by a team of doctors.
A source informed Old Harbour News that the injured man has a high probability of surviving as the shots luckily did not hit any vital organs deemed life-threatening.
Since the year started, the community of Old Harbour Bay has not recorded a murder.

However, there have been a number of shootings in the community, regarded by the police as a major transshipment point in the guns for drugs trade between Jamaica and Haiti.
