The Blessed Holy Spirit was sent to carry on and empower the program of God here on earth. He is the driver of any success that a child of God will ever have.

Through the gifts that He graciously gives to the members of the church, we can do amazing things well beyond our personal abilities. We don't manipulate the Spirit to give us the gifts that we want, but we should use the gifts that we have to produce the fruit of the Spirit. The greatest proof of the indwelling Holy Spirit then is not gifts on display but fruit being demonstrated. Can we love our enemies, have joy in the deep sorrow or peace in our stormy situations, etc (there are six more I could talk about)? If these are real in our life on an ongoing basis, then we are honouring God by producing the fruit of the Spirit. The reality is we can't do it in our own strength. But God has come to dwell in us and there is nothing too hard for Him to do in a person who will say, "Holy Spirit, I am your vessel, love this enemy through me." With a submissive spirit like this in us, the Holy Spirit will do wonders through us. This is what being filled or controlled by the Spirit is all about.

Gal. 5:22-23 (KJV): But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith
23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Have a Spirit-filled Saturday!
