DAILY DEVOTION: Working for The King (co-workers)

Greek philosopher Aristotle said: "The whole is greater than the sum of the non-rigid parts."

I believe Mr A was quoting principles that were in the writings of Moses. God had always wanted His people to work together and in those unions He will cause special things to happen. Partners, they make the load lighter, the journey shorter, the speed quicker...at least they ought to. Sometimes however a co-lifter is leaning on the load instead of lifting under it. Sometimes they, or should I say we, are more a part of the conundrum instead of being part of the solution. With that said, one must ask: ‘As a Christian, am I a co-worker that is a blessing or a burden?’ As we work for the King, He has graciously placed us together to sweeten the work. As we cause the sum of the group to be more than the individual parts, we need to know that God is miraculously lifting with us. This cause one to accomplish a thousand but two will accomplish, not two thousand but ten thousand (Deut. 32:30). This is the Biblical principle of partnership in God's work, and it is truly amazing. Peter had John, Paul had Silas, Joshua had Caleb. These were success stories because God multiplies where we are adding. God wants to work through you and those He places as your co-workers in His life work - Evangelism, teaching, parenting, even banking. Do your best and help to bring out the best in your partner.

1 Cor. 3:6: I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
