DAILY DEVOTION: Working for God – Noah Pt. 1
Well, in a day when people were inventing more ways to be wicked and God had had enough, a man named Noah was chosen for a most jaw-dropping project. With God's disgust with mankind at record breaking levels, this refreshing life popped out like a blade of grass in a desert. You would think that the desert would destroy this blade of life, but it held its place. Why?, you may ask. THE ANSWER… The Grace of God that produced this life was more than sufficient and not just here, but in any and every desert situation. In Enoch's days people were walking away from God, so Enoch walked with God. In Noah's days people were working against God, so Noah was graciously enlisted to work for God. Before we consider the work, let's consider the choice of the worker. Anyone who is chosen will live, everyone else will die. Anyone who is chosen shall, like Adam, become the father of the rest of humanity, everyone else will die. Anyone who is chosen will be specially rewarded and remembered by God, everyone else will die. Anyone who is chosen will see the power of God to destroy and rebuild, everyone else will die.
It's a special privilege to be chosen. We didn't find God, He found us. When we, in time, chose God, He had already chosen us, in eternity. Grace tells us that Noah was chosen so that God could bless him with work. Grace tells us the same thing about ourselves. We are chosen to work for Him. Rejoice in that you are among the chosen!
