Dwayne Thomas, 29, must serve a minimum of 10 years before being eligible for parole after he pleaded guilty to charges of murder and wounding with intent in relation to the November 23, 2019 domestic dispute which resulted in the death of the Davis Primary student. Toni-Ann Campbell, Master’s mother, is still counting her luck after receiving life-threatening injuries during a dispute that turned deadly.
Thomas was also slapped with a 10-year sentence for wounding Campbell. Both sentences will run concurrently.

Based on the police report which was tendered into evidence during the trial, about 5:45 am on the day in question residents were awaken by loud cries of help from the Marlin Way, Old Harbour Glades home. A bloody Campbell, who is a bartender, was seen running from the house, while the police were summoned.
When the police arrived at the scene the body of Masters had multiple stab wounds and was seen in a pool of blood inside the house, while Thomas who was sitting at the back of the yard, was taken into custody.
Thomas was mandated by the court to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, following which he was deemed fit to stand trial.
The labourer was living at the home of his mother, who was overseas at the time of the chilling incident. Surprised residents told Old Harbour News at the time that the couple showed no signs of any existential crisis in their 12-month-old relationship.
The matter was quickly wrapped up when Thomas pleaded guilty, which the judge weighed in his favour in granting eligibility for parole after serving 10 years.
