NWC Marlie Mount pump “will be restored” Saturday
Residents can now hope that on-going works at the facility will bring to an end to five consecutive days of service disruption since January 3.
Affected areas include: Marlie Mount, sections of Marlie Acres, parts of Old Harbour, sectors of Church Pen, Old Harbour Villa and Island Farm.
In its latest bulletin issued this morning on the disruption, the NWC said “its teams are now working to complete the necessary repairs and a restart of water supply distribution from the Marlie Mount water supply system in St Catherine which was impacted by a mechanical issue”.
It added: “The company estimates that normal supply will be restored within the next 24-36 hours.”

In a bid to lessen the impact of the disruption on its customers, the NWC redirects water from another facility at nights between the hours of 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, albeit at low pressure.
At the same time water is being trucked to its affected residents upon request, the NWC said.
