Patrick Street man slapped with gun, ammo charges
Ackeen Thomas, otherwise called ‘Ackee Bud’ or ‘Drogba’ was this afternoon arrested by the police after being spotted with a 9mm Browning pistol with a magazine containing five live 9mm rounds.
According to the Old Harbour police about 12:20 pm, an off-duty cop was visiting relatives in the Patrick Street community when he saw Thomas removing a gun from among some building blocks at the side of the house in the yard.
Thomas, a labourer, was accosted by the police constable who then alerted the Old Harbour police.
The serial number of the weapon was erased, but will be taken to the police forensic laboratory for testing.

Investigators are now trying to determine the earliest possible court date for Thomas, who they say has no previous convictions to his name.
