Man shot four times in deadly Old Harbour gun attack

A 53-year-old construction worker was yesterday afternoon gunned down in the Old Harbour area.

The deceased has been identified as 53-year-old Everald Smith from an area known as Capture Land or Phase II which is an unregulated settlement abutting the communities of Smith Avenue and Old Harbour Villa.

According to the police, Smith’s body was discovered about 12:45 pm after residents heard loud explosions.

Residents in the area claimed that Smith was seated in front of a shop when he was approached by a man who pulled a firearm and shot him four times.

Upon closer examination his body had bullet wounds to the head and upper torso.

He died on the spot. 

The shooter escaped on foot. Police are yet to determine a motive behind the killing.

Scene of crime detectives processed the area where four spent casings were retrieved along with blood samples and a damaged bullet for further forensic data analysis.

The police are urging persons with information that can assist them with solving this murder to contact the Old Harbour Police Station at 876 983 2255 or police emergency number 119.
