Old Harbour gospel group Avodah drops official debut video
Written in 2012, ‘Homecoming in the Sky’ urges believers and non-believers to prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
“The inspiration is just the state of the world with the crime and violence and the fact that persons are not getting ready to meet God,” said Andre Hinds of the all-male six-member group.
“So we are saying get ready for that homecoming in the sky,” he added “because it’s gonna be grand, it’s gonna be real good, so get yourselves ready to ensure that you are there.”
Directed by Yorkwin and Rene-K, the video was shot exclusively in Old Harbour featuring iconic images such as the ancient train station, the Ascot Race Course and the famous clock situated in the town centre.
Avodah has been around for more than two decades when the Christian brothers were all still in school.
The members are Orane Richards, Jason Wright, who is the song writer, Andre Forbes, Migel Anderson, Troy Oliver and Hinds.
The video has received over 1,700 views since it was uploaded on YouTube on September 1.
