Jamaicans are very religious and highly opinionated about what God expects from us. Many times they are wrong.

Sometimes as a person repeats some stories that has been passed down from generation to generation, you wonder how did this error start in the first place. We say, "Wah noh goh soh, nearly goh soh" which means "if it's not true, it's very close to being true”. With that in mind, our beliefs are swayed by every view we heard from these self-proclaimed theologians. While God didn't leave His plan and the explanation of it locked in a stone, still it is not all street talk. The key to understanding the word of God is to first go to Him without your preconceptions, humbly ask for His direction and submissively follow His lead. This is not just a plan for the person in total darkness, but for everyone who needs any kind of guidance from God. We live in a time when everyone has a point of view. This is fine. But it is very important to note that when it comes to the crucial issues of living, God has a very strong set of opinions that it will do us well to heed. God loves us and has a marvellous plan for us, if we submit to His Lordship. Let's lock out the world and listen to God.

Proverbs 3:5-7: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding. 6. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path. 7. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
