DAILY DEVOTION: Working for God – Noah Pt. 2
Amid the pain of knowing that all his neighbours and the people of his town, country and world were rejecting God and would therefore die, Noah was buoyed by the fact that his family was safe. We would do anything for family. We want them to live, win, thrive and excel beyond even our wildest dreams. I pray that amidst all your desires for your family, you are also hoping that they are right with God. This is far more essential than all of life's temporal pursuits. All these other things will come to pass. As Noah worked, his wife, sons and their wives worked along. Oh happy day! It's very important when the family business is God's business, no matter what the business is. Do things for God as a family. There will always be someone who will try to slip away, patiently try to bring them back. They will tell you that they are dealing with God over "there," But always invite them to also have time for "Us and God”. Endure the rolling of the eyes, the "I wish I were on another planet" attitude and make the most of what you can get. One day the seeds you plant will bear fruit. Sometimes the fruit might have to skip a generation, but something WILL come of your efforts. Bottom-line, however, is to remember that like Noah, you are working for God. God blessed Noah, as He turned his sons' heart to Himself.
They owned that work. No greater sound than when the once wayward children or spouse is now the one calling everyone together for Family devotions.
