Please read Genesis 24:36-41. And he said unto me, The LORD, before Whom I walk, will send His angel with thee, and prosper thy way.

The unnamed servant of Abraham shared that he swore to his wealthy master that he would do the task. However, he had a real question. Everything wasn't up to him because there's another independent person in the equation. What if she won't comply? Abraham's answer to his servant is quite instructive: The Lord, before Whom I live my life and have come to trust for the best for me, He will make a way and turn the hearts of those whose hearts need turning. If you go and she won't come then you are free from your oath.

As we busy ourselves being used of the Holy Ghost to get a wife for Christ, there are some easy comparisons. God will work people's hearts. If we have invited someone to come and there is no heart-change, orchestrated from God, we have cleared ourselves of that person. If you have been wooed by the Spirit of God and you embraced the invitation of God, then you are part of the bride of Christ. If you refuse then, the Unnamed Servant has done His part.

You can tell by now that this has precious little to do with how to find a wife for ourselves, but to build the Bride of Christ, the Church. Abraham would represent the Father; Isaac, the Son; the Unnamed Servant, the Holy Spirit working through His witnesses here in this foreign land and Rebekah is the wooed Bride, the Church. Are you with us or will you be left behind because of your refusal?
