What should I do to secure and move large sums of cash?

How do I know I’m being followed?
It is very important to be observant of your surroundings. Look for patterns, unfamiliar behaviours or any noticeable changes in your surroundings; and remember thieves/robbers may travel on foot, motorcycle or other means of transportation. Where possible use modern technology such as cameras, panic buttons etc to assist. Also pay attention to live location and location tracking.

Your ability to be very observant is very important when using point of sales and automated teller machines (ATMs). Create a visual picture of your environment and don’t get isolated. Special attention must also be given to early morning and night.
How safe is it to leave valuable items in my car?
Cars and other motor vehicles that can be close-up provide limited amount of security. Cash, jewelry, electronics, and other valuables that can be easily converted to cash can be a target and may not be safe in an unattended to motor vehicle. Don’t take chances, know what you have, what it is worth and do your very best to protect same.
How can I identify a thief or a robber?
By virtue of definition it is a person who commits the act of larceny – which is to take something from the owner or from a place without a claim of right with intention to permanently deprive the owner of what is taken. Identifying a thief or a robber is to understand that there might be a complex network of individuals working together and can be of any age, race, or gender. This can be very challenging, but there are certain behaviors, signs, and patterns that might help you spot someone who could be engaged in criminal activity. It's important to remember that these signs are not definitive proof of theft or robbery; they’re just potential indicators. These could be nervousness, acting out of place, overly avoiding attention, unusual movement or actions to name a few common ones.
