Dubbed Run for the Fund, the event seeks to raise at least $250,000 to aid students across the Old Harbour area ahead of the next academic year beginning September.

The race will begin at the Old Harbour Baptist Church (opposite Old Harbour Primary School) and will see participants making their way to the Old Harbour Bay Baptist Church, situated along Main Street, Old Harbour Bay.

Race time is 6:30 am sharp.

Registration is now open with forms available at Old Harbour Baptist, Old Harbour Bay Baptist and Jamaica Bedding Company. Forms are also available for download at www.ohbaycircuit.org.  Registration is: adults $1,000 and $500 for children under 17 years old. Participants are being reminded that Covid-19 protocols will be observed and as best as possible, social distancing is recommended.

Deadline for registration is May 27, 2022.

“In 2020, we were able to assist over 30 students with benefits such as part-payment of tuition expenses and textbook grants,” the group said in a statement. “The Old Harbour Bay Circuit of Baptist Churches understands the needs of our community and of such will continue to assist in whatever way to practice good stewardship.

“We as a church continue to support the welfare of our members, the community and especially the students in their preparation for back-to-school each September.”
