The appeal comes after seven men on Saturday evening were held with five goats that they could not properly account for.

According to the police the men who were travelling in a vehicle with the animals were intercepted on East Street, Old Harbour in the vicinity of Stewart's Hardware.

Following queries by the cops it was determined that the fully mature goats were stolen probably from the Thetford area in Church Pen.

All seven men, two of whom the police say, are from Church Pen are now being held in custody pending formal charges. The five other men are said to be from Spanish Town.

The animals are temporarily impounded at the Old Harbour Police Station.
