Shayanne Henry is Bois Content Primary’s top girl in PEP

This was in the annual Primary Exit Profile (PEP) examination, a national standardized external assessment programme for primary school leavers matriculating into high schools.

“I was extremely happy to know that I was awarded top girl because I worked very hard to prepare myself for the exam,” said Henry.

Henry aspires to become a soldier, she revealed because in the army she will be taught a lot of discipline and would also like to serve her country.

As her journey at her primary school has come to an end, Henry is looking forward to start her new journey at the Old Harbour High School. While on this new sojourn in pursuit of her secondary education, she wants to leave her own mark.

“I am now moving on to higher heights and I aspire to be the top girl of all my classes” she said

Natora Bailey is Shayanne’s mother, who informed Old Harbour News that she has been motivating and supporting her child every step of the way.

“I felt very good and proud”, said Bailey while noting “I chose the Old Harbour High School because it is a good school and I would have less expenses.”

“While doing online class Shayanne was a bit slow and off track,” the mom added. “It looked as if she wanted to give up but I had to encourage her and tell her that it is not the end of the world and she should try her best to stay on track because only her best is good enough.”

While Bailey expects her daughter to continue excelling academically she’s aware that greater challenges are ahead. She not perturbed though, saying: “My advice to my daughter is to hold your head up you are moving to higher heights and remember stay away from bad company.”

Now that she has acquired her primary education with the requite level of proficiency, Henry says she will always hold dear some unforgettable moments at her alma mater.

“My best memory at my now alma mater was graduation. It made me realize that my hard work has paid off,” she said. “I also got to celebrate with the people who have been on this journey with me.”
