Spring Village gun attack leaves three dead, two injured
Information reaching Old Harbour News is that about 5:15 pm this evening, two armed men fired gunshots at a group of persons at a football match at the Jamaica Broilers community playfield.
Dead is Sasha-Gay Eubanks otherwise called Tamara, who is said to be in her 20s. The other deceased are Jerome Squire, alias Coolie and uncle of Eubanks and another man so far identified only as ‘Curry’.
All three persons killed are residents of the community of Spring Village.
Two other persons – a man and a woman – it is said, have been rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Their conditions are unknown at present.
The police are yet to issue a formal statement on the incident, as investigators are currently processing the crime scene and collating information.
According to several accounts shared with Old Harbour News, following the brazen attack, licensed firearm holders at the venue challenged the two men who escaped amongst the large crowd of more than 300 spectators at the venue.
It is unclear if any of the gunmen were shot.
