Elevation cyclists from Old Harbour claim podium finish in Mobay
Sixteen-year-old Dixon maintained his status as the island’s top junior cyclist, finishing the Fairview circuit ahead of clubmate Robinson and Christian McFarlane in third.
Some 50 riders participated in the meet but only six cyclists from a starting field of approximately 40 finished the elite combined category due to heavy rain.
Despite the torrential downpour the curtains came down on the day’s proceedings in exciting fashion, as Bradley McFarlane pipped his father Horace McFarlane on the line to win the elite combined division.
Hometown favourite Donald ‘Fowlie’ Hall won the super master category to huge applause ahead of Wayne Smith.
Each rider who finished their race was rewarded with a medal and cash incentive.
Sherene Gray was the lone female participant and was duly recognised for her efforts.
Dixon and Robinson will now turn their attention to the National Cycling Championships next weekend in Kingston.
