Old Harbour thrashed by Tacky in Headley Cup cricket
Victory moved Tacky, one of the favourites to win the title overall this season, to the top of Zone D to remain unbeaten after two games.
Tacky’s impressive win was setup by Tyson Gordon Jr’s undefeated knock of 102, as the hosts posted 294 for two after being sent in to bat.
Gordon shared in two important partnerships with Javere Green (91) and Marland Williams (42) which laid the foundation for a massive total.
Last week’s heroes for Old Harbour against Tacius Golding, Ranjay Thomas (1-67) and Tavar Powell (1-46) could not repeat ther trick against a Tacky side that included several national in its ranks.
At their turn at bat, Old Harbour were skittled out for 37, as pacers Jevone Wynter bagged four wickets for six runs and Romeo McDonald grabbed two for 22. Left-arm spinner Demareo Newton also impressed with the ball, snaring three wickets for four runs.
In the meantime, Dinthill Technical (204/9) defeated Tacius Golding (14 all out) by 190 runs at the Windalco Sports Club to remain second in the zone’s standings.
Titchfield High (160 all out) also stayed in the hunt following a 126-run win over Charlemont High (34 all out).
