DAILY DEVOTION: Walking with God – Enoch Pt.2
God knew all the fantastic sights and sounds. There was no way that Enoch could have experienced those wonders had he chosen to come and see nature by himself. Sometimes God would have him stop and wait for something to happen and then whoosh! It would always take Enoch's breath away or draw a "wow!" from his lips. God also knew where the fruits were sweetest, the water was freshest and the breeze was coolest. It was great walking with God away from the hustle and haggling of the town, where everyone is trying to outdo the other person. It had gotten late. Enoch lived alone. His children were grown. His son, Methuselah, never comes around anymore with the grandchildren. All he does when he is away from God is to think about getting back to God. God knew Enoch's heart and made him a proposal that would make him run on water and skip over mountains: "You don't have to go back to your home, you can come and stay at My place."
We need to make sure that God is our best friend all the time because He'll be our only friend many times. God knows how to lead us where things are best, all we need to is to ask and then follow. To get the best from God, waiting has to become one of our strong points. The best things may not come at our timing, but in God's timing. God wants to always be with us. He will walk with us even through the noise and confusion of our world, but God longs for the day when He will take us home. I trust that you long for the day when we'll all be home. We can all go and live at God's palace.
