Despite her quiet demeanor Kediecia Brady’s mind and spirit are very unsettled at the moment as she has no clue regarding the whereabouts of her 11-year-old daughter Keliecia Powell, who has been missing since the afternoon of Thursday, October 10, 2024.

So far all attempts to locate and bring her home, are to no avail. Her father and the rest of the family have been combing Spanish Town and its surrounding communities for days but so far their efforts have not unearthed any leads.

Little Keliecia hails from Sydenham, a small suburb of Spanish Town off Old Harbour Road and  a first-form student at Jonathan Grant High School.

The family tells Old Harbour News that on October 10, she came home from the morning shift, changed out of her uniform and apparently went on the road to purchase something. But has not been seen since she left home. She was last seen wearing a green top, red skirt and black slippers.

For Brady, the last few days have been hell on earth as the factor of the unknown weighs heavily on her. To say that she has not been coping well would be an understatement.

“The only thing I can do is sleep as when I sleep I can shut off my mind. Once I wake up, it’s trauma. At this point I just feel lost. I can’t let her 4-year-old sibling hear any what is currently happening so when I have to talk, I come out of the room,” she said speaking to Old Harbour News.

The 31- year-old mother-of-three said that she has been constantly praying and fasting hoping for the safe return of her middle child.

“We have already reported it to the police,” she added. “Right now her father has been looking all over. On Monday her grandfather will be going to the school to talk to her friends to see what we can find out; maybe he can speak to her close friends to see if there are any leads there.”

The community has been rallying around the family and while Brady appreciates all the support, her greatest wish is to see her child.

“I just want to hold her and hug her, and have her next to me, safe and sound,” Brady said.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Keliecia Powell can contact her mother at 876- 370-2644, her aunt at 876-566-7321 or the nearest police station.
