Perry’s Funeral Home CEO gives back to alma mater
The donation was made by Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Perry’s Funeral Home, Peter Perry, who is a past student of the school.
He told JIS News that the donation of the 50-inch TVs, valued at over $340,000, will enhance the learning experience for the students.
“I did it so that everyone can benefit,” he said, while urging more past students to get involved and support the institution.
Principal of Brown’s Hall Primary, Novalin Leachman, said a TV set will be installed in every classroom.
With the technology, teachers will be able to readily access information on the internet to support classroom lessons, making them more interesting and engaging.
“It really helps in the delivery of certain topics in the classrooms and during lunchtime and breaktime children can watch documentaries and this keeps them occupied,” the Principal told JIS News.
She said that the teachers are grateful for the TVs and thank Mr. Perry for the donation. “The students and teachers are better off using the technology in the classrooms,” she said.
Mr. Perry has been a long-standing supporter of Brown’s Hall Primary, providing paint to beautify the buildings prior to the start of the current school term.
He also organised a Christmas treat for the school community and has installed lights on the school compound.
