This serene community is the place where the 260-year-old Bushy Park Aqueduct is surrounded by 21st Century ‘SmartHomes’, and where modern technology provides solutions to everyday household challenges.

Each SmartHomes, on lot sizes of about 3,700 sq. ft to about 5,000 sq. ft, is equipped with a solar electricity generating system, a solar water heater, a water-harvesting system, SMART light switches and electrical outlets, exterior floodlight cameras, plus an electric car charging outlet. These and other features are all included in the purchase price.

“The first question people usually ask is ‘what’s a SmartHome? Well, it’s basically a house that’s Wi-Fi enabled and connected, allowing owners the ability to control their electronic devices from anywhere,” said Joshua Burgess, sales officer at SmartHomes by CEAC, a company dedicated to incorporating technology into the design of affordably priced homes.

“We have taken the concept a little further, because our homes all have the SMART features, but also come with features like the solar, the water harvesting and storage, which allow homeowners to reduce their carbon footprint, save on their utility bills, and futureproof the home for climate-related weather events” Burgess added.

This gated community also features solar-powered streetlights, lots of green space, and two recreation areas: one around the Aqueduct and the other with a jogging trail, children’s playground and a pond.

There are three models of SmartHomes within the Aqueduct of Vineyards, namely:

  • The Spring –  671 sq. ft 2-bed/1-bath for $18.7 million
  • The Garden – 822 sq. ft 2-bed/1-bath for $20.5 million
  • The Estate – 1,214 sq. ft 2-bed/2-bath for $28.2 million

The Spring and The Garden are now sold out, and only a few Estates remain.

Aqueduct of Vineyards is on schedule for full completion by December 2024 with Bellevue Hills Estate near Spanish Town and Tesserra, Bernard Lodge in Portmore among the other developments planned by SmartHomes by CEAC for St. Catherine.
