DAILY DEVOTION: Spending time with God

God. Who is He? How should one interact with Him? We know in our heart of hearts that God exists (trust me, atheist are just liars who have come to believe their lies).

So how do I rightly relate to God? Well, a very important part of this is to not just read His words, the Bible, but to think long and hard on what I have read. It's called meditation. Don't just zip in and zip out of His presence. Stop this one verse, quick prayer thing. Spend time with Him. God is not just talking to everybody, He's talking to me! He has some specific things to say to me that I only receive when I stop and listen. This world keeps us on a fast pace, but God advise us to "Selah" - pause and reflect on Him. This habit of meditating on God should be diligently built. Instead of texting during my spare time or travel time, I will spend that time rolling over in my mind a sermon I recently heard or the passage I read this morning. As I do that, I will be building intimacy with God, an Intimacy that will benefit me in hard times. My mind must become a regular meeting place for God and me.
