DAILY DEVOTION: Under Construction (Foundation Work)

  • Mar 01, 2021 05:00 AM | Religion

David and I worked on the building of our home church's sanctuary. We learned a thing or two about foundation. Before we go up, we have to go down.

We spent much time and effort hacking away with digging tools. The head mason would come and measure as we went along - It had to be right. 36 years later, David and I are now pastoring churches. We are still working on foundations. We have the Divine Mason measuring our work - it has to be right. As we help people for whom Christ died, get a firm footing in God, the work never stops. There is always another project and the Lord sends us to it. Every time God is going to move you up, He first moves you down. The lasting victories in your life came about after God did some foundation work on you. God loves when His work is strong, so He WILL do what we might call useless, tedious foundation work. Many people will be pleased with how they turn out, but can I encourage you, be patient with God's foundation work. Pastor David and I smile when we drive pass "our building”. We smile deeper when we see God's workmanship in the lives of so many. Our word to you is: "Trust the Divine Mason, foundation work comes before every big move He makes in your life."

Eph. 2:10: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
