Reports are that about 2:00 am, the 61-year-old man was at his home in the unregulated community of Phase 2 adjoining Old Harbour Villa when men entered his yard and removed the animals.

Responding to the commotion outside, the man got up to assess the situation but had to quickly take cover after he was fired upon.

One of the bullets grazed his arm but the injury is considered as extremely minor.

The value of the goats is estimated at $200,000.

The thieves escaped with the animals on foot along a dirt track beside the toll road.

It is the second time that the man has been a victim to goat theft after thieves stole 12 goats from his premises in January of this year.

Investigation continues.
