Old Harbour Health Centre returns to normalcy after rodent control exercise

Normal operations at the Old Harbour Health Centre will return tomorrow following a disruption in service today.

Officials at the clinic were this morning forced to redirect patients to other health facilities nearby because of an obnoxious stench emanating from inside the building.

The source of the stench, when discovered, stemmed from a rodent control exercise conducted over the weekend by the St Catherine Health Department.

At the time of writing a sanitization exercise was being carried out after the dead rodents were removed.

When contacted, the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) advised Old Harbour News that a rodent control programme was conducted at other facilities within the region.

“Normal clinic operations will resume tomorrow at Old Harbour Health Centre. We apologize to the public and ask for their patience and cooperation,” added the region’s governing body which oversees all state-run health facilities in the parishes of Kingston, St Catherine, St Thomas and St Andrew.
