Low voltage forces shutdown of NWC Marlie Mount pump

The National Water Commission (NWC) Marlie Mount pump has been forced to shut down due to low voltage caused by a malfunctioning Jamaica Public Service (JPS) transformer.

As a result several NWC customers served by the facility have been without water from about three o’clock yesterday afternoon.

Clive Brown, NWC manager for Old Harbour region told Old Harbour News that the issue was immediately reported the JPS.

A second report was sent to JPS again this morning, he said in an update with Old Harbour News, as the matter remains unresolved.

The communities affected are Marlie Mount, Old Harbour Villa, Wellside Lane, Orange Lane, Sweetsop Lane, Big Lane, Herring Lane, Thetford, Church Pen Housing Scheme and surrounding areas.
